Advanced Base Camp 1

Jim Lowther, Divyesh Muni, Cyrus Schroff, Capt. Vrijendra Lingwal, Samgyal Sherpa and myself are moving up to Camp 1 to make an attempt on Argan Kangri (6789m). We plan on establish a second camp, somewhere near the left hand sky line tomorrow and hope to go for the summit the day after tomorrow.

Harish Kapadia and Lt Cdr Satya Dan have embarked on an exploratory trip up the Rassa Glacier while we expect the two Marks back at base camp when they are sufficiently rested from their formidable climb on the Argan Eiger.

AB2 in foreground. Our route to Camp 1 goes up an easy rocky
moraine leading up from AB2 and then swinging left to Camp 1 off the left
hand side of the picture, below the left hand sky line of Argan Kangri, the
peak on the left of the picture.
