There are a huge number of great bush walks in the Blue Mountains - for more information just Google 'bush walks in the Blue Mountains'.

I'll put out my climbing blog in a few days when I've finished my climbing campaign.

Unique opportunity
I am joining my son Joe on a trek to the Everest Base Camp, meeting at Kathmandu on 3 April of this year and ending on 20 April. There have been three last minute cancellations, so there is the chance to join me and Joe on a trek which will have great memories for me, which I shall enjoy sharing with my fellow trekkers.

If you are interested go to Joe's web site:

Will be a great trip.

Bonington, the bush walker!

Here's some news from sunny Sydney. Last week I had a great bush walk with my son Joe and some of his clients. He is a trainer at the Fitness First Flagship gymn in Sydney and has branched out into guiding bush walks and trekking in Nepal (I'm accompanying his first trek to the Everest Base Camp).

The Bush in the Blue Mountains is fantastic - very extensive with deep forested valleys, steep sides and fantastic sandstone cliffs.

We went for three days, starting at Govett's Leap Look out, just by Katoomba, descending a very steep set of steps carved into the rock into Govett's Creek, and then down by path through the forest towards the Grose River to camp on Acacia Flats.

Joe is not only a knowledgeable guide with a deep interest in the local flora and fauna, but he's also a great camp cook.

Temperatures were in the mid thirties, but the river was along side and great for a dip.

Chilling out!.

The second day we walked down the banks of the Grose River to stop at Burra Koran Flats.

The crags above were very welcoming and many of them are unclimbed. There is terrific scope scope for new routes. I climbed one of these a couple of days ago, story to come.
