26. Our team on top at last.  We all made it as a group, together, at around 7am. The temperature on top was about -10.

27.It was an emotional moment and a real achievement for these guys who had never been on a mountain before - Colin,  Andy and Ean.

28. It's a lot easier going down!!!!  Running the cinder slopes on the way back to KIbo

29. We all felt like Lou when we got back to the camp at Kibo - it had been a long hard but very satisfying night and morning.

30. Saying farewell to our support team who done such a tremendous job. We were able to give them a load of great Berghaus gear to keep them warm for future work on the mountain.

31. None of our guides had down jackets, so we put this right.

32. Back into the rain forest and nearly back at the Marangu Gate with every one in great form.

33. We were greeted at the Gate  by competitors for the Miss Tanzanian Tourism Competition who were on their way up the mountain.

34. And back to Moivaro Lodge at Arusha for a much needed hot shower and a celebratory meal at the end of a really great trip.

Kilimanjaro - Continued...

18. Setting out from our Camp at Kibo (4700 metres) at midnight.

19. There were about 200 people going for the summit that night in long crocodiles led by the guides and each jostling for position.  We were going strongly and overtook quite a few parties.

20.Having a well earned drink of hot coffee at Gillman's Point  (5685m) from the thermos flask brought up by one of our guides.

21. Pin pricks of light from the many head torches of people climbing the mountain that night.

22. Dawn as we walked along the crater rim towards Uhuru Peak, summit of Kilimanjaro.

23. It seemed to go on for ever.

24. Nearly there - passing the top of the Kersten Glacier on the left with the summit in sight.

25. Looking out across the crater.
