Con Moriarty, who organised my lecture and whose family has lived in these parts for hundreds of years and myself with Carraig Cheannain in the Gap of Dunloe in the background. This is one of the most popular climbing spots in the area.

Chris leading Cuchulainn (HVS 5a) It was a beautiful single pitch climb with a couple of overhangs to surmount.

Chimneying up the over hang.

Still going!

Killarney 2nd April

I attended the Killarney Mountain Festival on 2 April and got in some great climbing. It's a brilliant place. The Macgillicuddy's Reeks are a magnificent range of wild mountains of over 3000 feet withy wonderful walking and some great crags of a very hard sandstone. The sea coast also is magnifent with great cliff climbing. The Guinness is great and there is a warm friendly atmosphere where ever you go.
