| 27 June 2009 Yesterday was my last day's climbing - perfect T shirt weather, wonderful rock and I managed to crank myself up a 5+. It's Lys og Skygge (Light and Shade) 5+ (HVS 5a)and rated amongst the top 50 best quality routes in the Lofotens. It lived up to its reputation. It's on Pianokrakken a nice almost roadside crag just opposite Henningsvaer.
Cranking up the first pitch, putting in a lot of pro to help my self confidence!! Still steep and thin
Nearly there, heading for a ledge under the big roof on left.
Hans Peter led through onto the fantastic top pitch which is only given 4+ but is pure magic all the way.
View of crag with climbers on the route. The line goes up the arete just above the top climber and then on up the groove splitting the top slab.
Hans Peter on Tapir 7- (E3, 6a), on the left hand side of Pianakrakken - also in the top 50. He made it look so easy I had a go on a very very tight rope and managed to get up it. And now back home looking forward to returning next year!!!!!! |
