The Sky’s the Limit July 2011

A few days ago I had a great flight over the Lakes with my old mate Ronnie Faux.

We set out in his very small light aircraft from the old wartime RAF station at Kirkbride on the Solway.

We flew over my home at Nether Row in Middle foreground.

And then had a look at Sharp Edge on Blencathra, one of the best ridge scrambles in the Lake District.

Before flying over Keswick with views of Derwent Water.

And on to Scafell, looking down on Mickledor and the East Buttress of Scafell.

Before swinging across to have a look at Eagle Crag towering above Birkness Coombe in Buttermere…

…and finally back to the Solway with wonderful patterns in its shallow waters on our way to land at Kirkbride – what a flight and many thanks to Ronnie for a great experience.
